Devlin Cooper's practice is focused on civil litigation, including Eminent Domain Proceedings, Business Law and Litigation, Personal Injury, Fair Business Practices Act Claims, and Construction Law. Devlin is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. Following his graduation, Devlin was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. Prior to joining Sell & Melton, Devlin clerked for the Honorable Lamar W. Sizemore, Jr. and the Honorable Tilman E. Self III, of the Superior Courts of Georgia, Macon Judicial Circuit. During his clerkship, Devlin also served as the Adoptions Law Clerk, reviewing and preparing all of the adoption files in the Circuit prior to each judge’s hearings.
Devlin is a native of Milledgeville, Georgia, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Georgia College & State University in 2002. During Devlin's final semester at Georgia College, Devlin interned for Attorney General Edwin Meese III in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Upon graduation from GC&SU, Devlin attended the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where he successfully completed the Regulatory Law Specialty Track of study. Following his graduation, Devlin was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in November 2005.
Devlin is an active member of the community. Devlin volunteers as an Assistant Attorney Coach with the Baldwin High School Mock Trial Team. Additionally, Devlin is a member of the Board of Director's of the Georgia College Alumni Association and serves as a member of the Executive Board of Central Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America, where he is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Order of the Arrow's national Distinguished Service Award.
Devlin's wife, Ashley, serves as an Assistant District Attorney in Macon. Devlin and Ashley have a Golden Retriever and a Goldendoodle puppy. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, playing with their dogs, spend time with family, and golfing.
